14-Year-Old Kuren Rein Identified in Town of Turtle Homicide Case; Mother Charged

Authorities have identified the 14-year-old victim found deceased inside a residence on E. Gorton Street as Kuren Rein, as new details emerge in a heartbreaking case that has shaken the local community.

Emergency responders from the Town of Turtle Police Department, alongside multiple assisting agencies including the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Beloit Police Department, were dispatched on the morning of March 20, 2026, to conduct a welfare check at a home in the 2000 block of E. Gorton Street.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered Kuren deceased inside the residence.

Authorities have since arrested 41-year-old Tyiece L. Oninski of Beloit, who is facing a charge of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the teen’s death. Investigators have not yet released full details about the circumstances, but the case remains under active investigation.

According to a fundraiser organized to support the family, the tragedy has had a devastating impact on Kuren’s loved ones—particularly her brother, who is now left to cope with the loss under unimaginable circumstances. The fundraiser describes the incident as a deeply traumatic event, stating the teen’s life was taken “in a devastating and unthinkable way.”

Community members have begun rallying around the family, offering support to help cover funeral expenses and provide stability during this difficult time. Organizers say the focus is on allowing Kuren’s brother and loved ones the space to grieve and heal.

Officials emphasize that the charge against Oninski is an accusation, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and medical examiner continue to investigate the case, with more information expected to be released as it becomes available.

This remains a developing story.
