Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly crash that occurred Thursday morning in Pineville, Missouri. The passenger who lost her life in the collision has been identified as 23-year-old Kiara Manion, a resident of Pineville.
According to officials, the crash happened shortly after 9:15 a.m. on March 5, 2026, at the intersection of Business 71 and Jesse James Road. Emergency dispatchers received reports of a serious two-vehicle accident, prompting Pineville Police and Fire departments, along with Freeman Ambulance, to respond quickly to the scene.
When first responders arrived, they discovered two vehicles that had sustained heavy damage from the collision. Both drivers were injured and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Manion, who was riding as a passenger in one of the vehicles, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the crash, local authorities requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers later called in the Major Crash Investigation Unit (MCIU) to carry out a more detailed investigation into what led to the collision.
Preliminary information from investigators indicates that one of the vehicles involved was a 2024 Ford Expedition driven by a 27-year-old man from Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Arkansas for treatment.
The second vehicle was a 2004 Cadillac driven by a 42-year-old man from Pineville. He sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Manion was a passenger in that vehicle at the time of the crash.
Authorities closed the roadway for approximately three and a half hours while investigators examined the crash site. Crews from MoDOT McDonald County assisted with traffic control and cleanup efforts before the road reopened around 12:45 p.m. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
