37-Year-Old Man Identified in Early Morning Fatal Shooting on Hollowell Avenue in Goldsboro

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in Goldsboro.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting around 12:43 a.m. at 315 Hollowell Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Emergency personnel with Wayne County EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Otavis Gerquel McKinnon, a resident of Goldsboro, who was also affectionately known by many as “BlackTay Jway.”

The department’s Investigative Services Bureau is leading the case, which remains active and ongoing. At this time, authorities have not released any details regarding possible suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
