In Loving Memory of Chon Chon

Authorities in Chicago are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of an 18-year-old male Tuesday evening.

According to the Chicago Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 6:57 p.m. near the intersection of 100th Street and Avenue M. Upon arrival, they discovered a teenage male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim has been identified as Chon Chon.

The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified at this time. Area detectives are actively investigating the case.

Officials noted that patrols in the Chicago Police Department 4th District have been increased following a series of recent shootings in the area. Authorities believe some of the incidents may be connected to ongoing gang-related conflicts.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward as police continue working to determine what led to the fatal shooting.
