New developments have emerged in the fatal shooting investigation in Beaumont, where a person was found dead inside a home Tuesday morning.
Suspect Vehicle Located
According to officers at the scene, what is believed to be the suspect’s vehicle was discovered abandoned in the 5400 block of Pine Street, near the Neches River.
The discovery is considered a key development as detectives work to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
Suspect Taken Into Custody
Police also confirmed that one suspect has been taken into custody near a nearby cemetery. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual or any potential charges.
Recap of Incident
Earlier Tuesday morning, officers with the Beaumont Police Department responded to a shots-fired call at a home on Rafes Way.
Inside the residence, they found a victim with fatal injuries. The individual has been locally identified as “Black Joe,” though officials have not yet confirmed the identity publicly.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives remain actively investigating the case, and officials say more information—including details about the suspect and circumstances surrounding the shooting—will be released as it becomes available.
