In Loving Memory of Madalyn K. Jalava

With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Madalyn K. Jalava, 24, whose life was tragically cut short following a residential fire in Troy on March 31, 2026.

According to the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office, Madalyn was critically injured in the early-morning fire at her home on Morse Street. She was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she later passed away despite life-saving efforts.

Also lost in the devastating fire was 56-year-old Benjamin P. Jalava, who was taken to Cheshire Medical Center and pronounced deceased. Both Madalyn and Benjamin were residents of the home.

Authorities have stated that while the investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing, there is currently no indication of suspicious circumstances.

Madalyn is remembered as a bright and cherished soul whose presence brought warmth and meaning to those around her. Her passing, alongside Benjamin’s, has left a profound void in the hearts of family, friends, and the entire community.

As loved ones mourn this unimaginable loss, they hold tightly to the memories, love, and moments shared.

Though her time here was far too short, Madalyn K. Jalava’s life will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, Madalyn. You will never be forgotten.
