Tatiana Reyes Identified as One of Two Victims in Fatal Apopka Crash That Sparked House Fire

One of the two victims killed in a devastating crash that caused a house fire in South Apopka, Florida, has been identified as Tatiana Reyes.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Saturday morning when a 2008 Honda Civic was speeding southbound on South Hawthorne Avenue. Investigators say the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the roadway.

The car struck a utility pole, flipped over, and then crashed into a home near West Ella J. Gilmore Street. The impact caused both the vehicle and the house to catch fire.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead. Tatiana Reyes has now been identified as one of the victims, while the identity of the second individual has not yet been released.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion before seeing flames and smoke. Some neighbors attempted to assist, with one person stating they heard cries for help coming from the vehicle before the fire intensified.

Despite the severity of the crash, two people inside the home were not injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash as officials work to determine all contributing factors. More details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
