Authorities have identified the 18-year-old victim of a fatal shooting on the city’s South Side as Tyrese Amari Smith, a young man whose life was tragically cut short in a brazen daytime attack.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred around 4:18 p.m. near Marquette Road and Wentworth Avenue at a Shell gas station. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and a person shot, arriving to find Smith inside a restaurant with multiple gunshot wounds.
