Authorities are investigating a tragic double homicide that claimed the lives of a woman and a young child early Wednesday morning in Lexington. The victims have been identified as Jennifer Sue and her young son, affectionately known as “Bubbie.”
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded around 12:52 a.m. on March 18, 2026, to a home on Ryan Place near Woodland Road after receiving reports of a shooting.
When first responders arrived, they discovered a woman deceased inside the home and a gravely injured young boy. The child was rushed to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
Authorities say an adult male suspect, identified as Irving Marsaw, was located nearby and taken into custody after a search involving a K-9 unit. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident before being taken into custody.
Investigators have not yet released full details about what led to the shooting. However, neighbors told local media that the suspect is believed to be the boyfriend of the female victim.
The violent incident has left the quiet neighborhood shaken. Residents described the area as typically peaceful, making the tragedy even more difficult to comprehend.
Witnesses reported that children from the home ran to a nearby house for help, shouting that their family members had been shot—an alarming moment that has deeply impacted the community.
Local organizations, including Tree of Life Church, are stepping in to support the grieving family with prayers, meals, and other assistance during this difficult time.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
