Bridgeport Firefighter Terrence Cramer Shot and Killed in Stratford Homicide
A Bridgeport firefighter was fatally shot Saturday morning in Stratford, Connecticut, in what authorities are investigating as a homicide.
Officials identified the victim as Terrence Cramer, a member of the Bridgeport Fire Department. The shooting occurred at a residence located at 74 Feeley Street, part of a side-by-side duplex.
According to early reports, the incident may be linked to a domestic-related dispute involving the alleged ex-partner of Cramer’s girlfriend. However, police have not yet confirmed full details surrounding the motive.
Stratford Police say one individual has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting. The suspect, described as a Black male around 40 years old, was reportedly driving a gray 2014 Honda Accord before being apprehended in Derby, Connecticut. Authorities had initially warned the public that the suspect was considered armed and dangerous.
A second individual, a woman who was present at the scene, later sought medical attention. Her condition has not been publicly disclosed.
In a statement, the Bridgeport Fire Department expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “Chief Edwards and the Bridgeport Fire Department are aware of the passing of Bridgeport Firefighter Terrence Cramer. We send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Terrence,” officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
