A shooting in Ocilla is under investigation after leaving one person dead and another fighting for their life.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was called in to assist the Ocilla Police Department with the case on April 4.

Authorities say 19-year-old Marquavious Da’shawn Westbrook was killed in the shooting, according to his family.

Another victim, 20-year-old Damonee Crumedy, remains in critical condition in the ICU at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center.

Details about what led to the shooting have not yet been released, and investigators are still working to piece together what happened.
