Von Woodson Identified After Fatal Shooting at Henrico Bar & Grille

A late-night shooting at a Henrico County bar has left one man dead as authorities continue investigating the incident.

According to reports, police responded around 11:11 p.m. Friday to Mell J’s Bar & Grille, located on Brook Road in Henrico County, after receiving calls about a shooting at the establishment.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as LaVon Woodson.

A large law enforcement presence remained outside the business for several hours as detectives processed evidence and interviewed witnesses. Authorities have not yet released details regarding a suspect, possible arrests, or what may have led to the shooting.
