23-Year-Old Man Killed in Evansville Shooting; Teen Suspect Charged with Murder
Authorities have identified a 23-year-old man who died following a shooting in Evansville earlier this week.
The victim has been identified as Trey Leavell, according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
Incident Details
Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the unit block of Kimber Lane just after noon on Tuesday.
When police arrived, Leavell was found on a sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Suspect Arrested
Police have arrested Noah Hogan, 16, in connection with the shooting.
According to officials, Hogan is facing multiple charges, including:
- Murder
- Criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon
- Child in possession of a firearm
- Obstruction of justice
Due to the seriousness of the charges, authorities say the teen has been waived to adult court.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators say the case remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
