17-Year-Old Jacob Fatally Shot Near Concord Pond Boat Ramp in Seaford
A tragic shooting in Seaford, Delaware, has left a 17-year-old teenager identified as Jacob dead after authorities say he was shot near the Concord Pond boat ramp Thursday night. Investigators with the Delaware State Police are actively working to determine who was responsible for the deadly attack.
According to police, troopers were dispatched to the 24000 block of German Road around 8:45 p.m. on May 21 following reports of a vehicle crash in the area. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered Jacob suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound inside the vehicle.
Troopers immediately began lifesaving measures before the teenager was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.
Investigators later determined that Jacob had reportedly been shot near the Concord Pond boat ramp on German Road before the crash occurred. Detectives believe an unknown suspect was involved in the shooting, though details regarding a possible motive or suspect description have not yet been released.
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and continues gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing any available surveillance footage from the surrounding area.
