22-Year-Old Douglas Roberson Shot and Killed on University Parkway in Natchitoches

A young life was tragically cut short after a deadly shooting early Friday morning in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Authorities have identified the victim as 22-year-old Douglas Roberson of Coushatta.

According to the Natchitoches Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:54 a.m. on March 27, 2026, to the 3800 block of University Parkway in response to reports of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found Roberson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First responders immediately began providing aid while awaiting additional emergency personnel, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.

Investigators quickly secured the area, canvassing the scene and speaking with several witnesses. Authorities also collected both digital and physical evidence, which will be analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.

At this time, police have not released information regarding a suspect or possible motive. The case remains under active investigation, and officials say more details will be shared as they become available.

The Natchitoches Police Department expressed appreciation to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and Northwestern State University Police Department for their assistance during the response.
