A 26-year-old man from Mechanicville, New York, was killed Monday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle in Troy.

Rensselaer County dispatchers received several 911 calls around 3:30 p.m. on September 14 reporting a serious crash on 2nd Avenue near 105th Street.

Troy authorities arrived and found the motorcycle rider suffering from serious injuries. He was taken by Troy Fire to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Theodore Biddle of Mechanicville.

According to investigators, Biddle was traveling south on 2nd Avenue while the other vehicle was traveling north. Preliminary findings indicate the collision occurred as the other vehicle was making a left turn into a parking lot.

The people in the other vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police said no tickets had been issued as of Tuesday and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not announced any additional details about possible factors that contributed to the crash.

Theodore Biddle’s death has left family, friends and loved ones mourning the loss of a young life.
