18-Year-Old Leonardo Ramirez Killed in Springdale Shooting

An 18-year-old man has died after being shot early Sunday morning in Springdale, Arkansas.

According to the Springdale Police Department, officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots near Norfolk and Cascade at approximately 4:50 a.m. on September 20, 2026.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began life-saving measures before the victim was transported to a local hospital.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Leonardo Ramirez. Despite efforts by medical professionals, Ramirez later succumbed to his injuries.

Several people have been detained in connection with the shooting and are currently being interviewed by investigators. Police have not announced any arrests or criminal charges at this time.

Authorities said the incident appears to be isolated and there is currently no information indicating an ongoing threat to the general public.
