Five men were shot in Macon, Georgia, Wednesday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Anthony Road and Mercer University Drive around 9 p.m. following a ShotSpotter alert.

Investigators learned that five men — three 18-year-olds, a 23-year-old and a 24-year-old — had been shot and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said all five victims were in stable condition.

The shootings also prompted security responses at two hospitals. Piedmont Healthcare temporarily locked down its emergency room after one of the victims arrived for treatment. The lockdown was lifted around 11 p.m.

A vehicle was also seen at the Atrium Health Macon emergency room surrounded by crime scene tape as law enforcement investigated.
