A man identified as Ronald Thompson, popularly known as Big Ronald, was fatally stabbed Tuesday afternoon in northeast Houston, according to information from Houston police.

The incident happened around 1:50 p.m. in the 8800 block of Lockwood near Laura Koppe Road. Houston Police Department investigators initially received a call about a possible shooting, but officers who arrived at the scene discovered that the victim had suffered a stabbing.

According to investigators, the incident reportedly began as an argument between two men on a METRO bus. The confrontation continued after both men got off the bus. During the argument, the suspect allegedly stabbed Ronald Thompson before attempting to flee the area.

Witnesses reportedly intervened and held the suspect down until police arrived. Authorities then took the suspect into custody.

Ronald was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and are working to obtain surveillance footage from inside the METRO bus. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or what led to the initial argument.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to establish the full circumstances of the deadly incident.
